Bad weather over the horizon... on March 14, 2007, 9:44 pm by Phil

Well things haven't been going too good over the past few weeks. Instead of a media packed news update we planned, Slayers Choice has got himself in a tight situation, filled with projects and assignments so code progression will be very slow at best. This means actual code progress won't be so good and that means we need another coder to help us. So, if any coders lying around if you want to help us, please do not hesitate to post a thread on the job opportunities forum smile http://dbzhood.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=8

In a better note, I have polished up and finalised a first release concept documentation! Yes that means you'll know what our attributes and melee system will be like! Note that these are subject to change but should give you an indication of what this game will play like wink

First update for the year on January 18, 2007, 3:07 am by Phil

Our new coder, Slayers Choice is making excellent progress with the mod. With our previous coder having problems with RL, SC had to jump into the deep end and write the code himself. Unfortunately this mean't alot of the code couldn't be used, but now hes broken that barrier and we can implement alot of new things!

First up, is our sprint flying. We got a quick clip for you guys to get the feel (7MB, 47 seconds):

Note the hud there was the old one, we have a new hud right here:

SC is also working on getting this ingame as we speak. After this we will be implementing some core things. Class Systems will come first, as well as the basic attacks + signature attacks.

I've also been working hard behind the scenes on the gameplay side of things. I have written up two systems, the melee system and the attributes system. These will fundamentally change the feel of whats norm from dbz mods, and bring more strategy to the mix and offer a fresh hand to hand combat mode! I'm close to finalizing these docs, so watch this space for more insight!

On another note though, we have lost alot of our team members. This has brought out team to only a few. We still require a lot of people to help us, so if you have the following skills, and you want to help a great dbz mod, please don't hesitate to post on our job opportunities forum: http://dbzhood.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=8

Porbably most urgent:
Animators
Sound Artists
Coder (Our melee system will be complex!)

Not in need but will definately help:
Modellers
2D Artists

Thanks, and keep watching!

New Coder! on January 8, 2007, 9:32 pm by Phil

If you have been active in the forums lately you would have noticed we have a new coder on the team! Granted yesterday, Slayers Choice is the new coder, and has already demonstrated his skill in coding. I hope you give him a warm welcome smile

In other job news, we are still looking for skilled modders. Modellers, animators, mappers, sound artists or even another coder. Post in our job opportunities forums and show us what you got biggrin

Christmas Update on December 25, 2006, 12:22 am by Phil

If the shock of an unanticipated website isn't enough, we have a little render update for you all! If some of you didn't browse the gallery when the new website was up, there are a few new models done thanks to the great skills of GokuSSJ and Mr. Phonso. Goku, Vegeta and Pikkon!

Content news aside, with the period of inactivity a few months back, we have definately lost a lot of staff. It's really been reduced to the staff that have their own dev journal, maybe a few more I missed. That means we have a few places that need filling in the job department!

So what skills do we need?

Coders
Sound Artists
2D Artists
Animators

These are the ones we require the most, but if you have other skills, such as modelling or skinning, you are all welcome to apply in our job opportunies forum http://dbzhood.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=8

Lastly I will like to welcome myself, Phil into the team. Joined in as the webmaster to bring you this funky new website smile

That should be it for now, stay tuned again for more progress
